By default we need to set up and maintain a default subdomain for all current and new sites. If a new primary domain is subsequently purchased for a site, the subdomain should persist and redirect to the new address. We need to decide what this default subdomain is, and if it is not something we already have, we need to purchase that domain. To date the only decision reached on this is that we should not use the EditWebRevisions address as the default domain. My (VS) preference would be for something that included the word Scartchpad but they are all taken. Another alternative is to use the MySpecies.info/.net/.name domains I (VS) owns.
